Fantasy Action on the iPhone: Kroll

I don’t have an iPhone just yet. I am hoping that I will be able to rectify this on some sunny day, but for now I am lacking an iPhone. Nevertheless, my brother shows off his iPhone once in a while (look, but never touch) so I’m aware of the apps out there and I’d like to start jawing about some of the more well put-together games. Kotaku has already gone hands-on with Kroll, the iPhone’s “first fantasy action game.”
You play as Delon. You are hairy and have a big hammer and a hulking bear-fur vest. You are awesome, but you must find Kroll, the Lord of Life, to become more awesome through a revived loved one.
Seems as if you hold the iPhone sideways and tap arrow keys to move, and tap hammer icons to hammer, hammer man. You can even pull off simple combos. The levels are pretty standard: long trudges broken up with boss fights.
Fun, overall, and somewhat impressive for an iPhone game according to Kotaku. Not a DS killer or anything, however.
“So far it appears that the game is relatively light on variety, really only giving you the option to slug it out as you move left to right through the world. Of course I’m only two levels in, but I suspect that is what the game is, an old-school button masher, a screen masher, if you will.”
Yeah, well, my phone has Snake on it.
