Ragnarok Online DS: Holy Hell, How Did I Miss This?

Rangarok Online is the only MMORPG I gained any affection for, and admittedly, that’s not much. But I still feel a certain pull towards the universe and in fact I recently started up another character for article-writing purposes. He’s an archer named Fuzzy Stone. He sucks. Archers suck.
Now it seems I have the option to make another sucky archer and take him on the road with me. Ragnarok Online DS is coming. I’m already making plans: my new archer will be called Snowy Meadows.
Of course, Ragnarok Online DS will be a bit lacking in the “online” department; there will be cooperative play for up to three characters and fifty multiplayer dungeons.
We’re probably not talking about Ant Hell or the Culvert or Payon Cave, though. From IGN:
“Obviously, this isn’t quite the same online play as the PC original. Much of the DS title is actually new, including the original main character, Ares. The storyline is also original. The game will also have new jobs, including a dark knight and a shaman.”
Hmmm. Will the dark knight ride a black peco-peco? That would be awesome. The game will be released in Japan on December 18th, in time for the series’ 6th anniversary.
(Hey look I got through this without making a Batman joke. Image copyright Gravity/GungHo Games.)
