Reggie: “You’re getting GTA DS, what more do you want?”

Reggie was right about one prediction he made a few years ago: Nintendo has kicked ass and taken a veritable rolodex of names. Having brought gaming to the mothers and old ladies of the world, the spokesperson for the King of Gaming fails to see how core gamers could possibly feel as if Nintendo has betrayed them.
“How could you [the core gamer] feel left out? The Animal Crossing that we’ve been hearing about that people wanted. Fully connected to the Internet, go to other people’s towns. Plus as I said, Grand Theft Auto on the DS. How do you feel left out with those types of announcements?”
Oh God, I feel like my mother is yelling at me. “I bought you an Atari 2600! How could you possibly want a Nintendo?”
I’m pretty okay with Nintendo bringing gaming to a casual audience. I’m more than okay with it, actually. But has the company really lost touch with core gamers on such a dire level?
I’m not desperate, though. I have reason to retain hope.
